Preamble - Norway
In 2007, a committee (Midtlyng Committee) was appointed, to contribute to better learning for children, young people and adults with special needs.
The committee’s report is an Official Norwegian Report (NOU), ‘Right to Learning’. This report is part of the basis for the White paper which appeared in 2011, Meld. St. 18 (2010-2011) Report to the Storting ‘Learning together’.
Inclusion is a main principle both in the NOU and the White paper and Teacher education and the important role of competence on special needs are topics in both.
The Eurybase description of initial teacher education in England which provides supporting information on teacher education can be found at:http://eacea.ec.europa.eu/education/eurydice/documents/eurybase/eurybase_full_reports/NO_EN.pdf
