The Institute Integriert Studieren developed out of a pilot project implemented in 1991.

Deriving from this pilot project that provided services for blind and partially sighted students studying Computer Science at Linz University, the Institute “Integrated Study” evolved, supporting nowadays (together with its partnering institutions all over Austria) over 200 students with disabilities at all faculties.

Since then and although its origin was focused on technological issues, the research focus changed to „eAccessibility“, „Mathematics & Games“ and „Social Integration“ proving that integration of people with disabilities in all societal contexts is possible, necessary and essential.
