Navigation
The main navigation links are found horizontally at the top of the page. Sub-links can be found in the next section in a vertical layout. These navigate to sections within the same page or directly related pages. External links always open in a new browser window. Typing the Agency domain name, then 'site' followed by the name of a section should take you to the required section if any spaces are replaced with the underscore character '_'. For example, to go to the main page in the Sweden National pages, type: http://www.european-agency.org/site/national_pages/sweden
Text only version
It is possible to access all of the Agency website through a text only interface. This enables users to set page parameters such as background colour, font colour and size and view all pages in the chosen settings. Additional text is embedded in pages to facilitate ease of use. . Help Box
On some of our web pages there are boxes containing help and advice. One example is for printing our web pages and the box is a rectangle with a dotted grey outline. Here is an example:

Our website has been tested under a number of commonly used web browsers. Whilst the list is not exhaustive, we hope it demonstrates our commitment to achieving high levels of accessibility throughout our site. If you encounter any difficulties using our site please contact us.

The Agency is committed to a process of continuous improvement in terms of its website accessibility and usability. This inclusive design philosophy is incorporated through the site.
The site has been tested using online assessment and evaluation tools and seeks to comply with all accepted national and international standards whilst having due regard for real users as well as theoretical benchmarks.
This site aims to comply with guidelines set by (External) W3C and is undergoing continuous review.

In addition to W3C online testing tools this site has been tested using (External) CynthiaSays and (External) aDesigner The (External) limitations of online tools are well documented and it is not our intention to explore these issues in detail here. However, they can provide a useful additional tool to enable reflection and development in terms of website accessibility.


Printing
To print content from our website you can use the printer firiendly interface described above in the Help Box section. As web pages are set up for viewing in a monitor, they are invariably wider than a printer page width in portrait format. If you want to print from the main pages, it might be useful to select the landscape page layout in your browser. In MS Internet Explorer, select 'File' : 'Print' and the choose 'landscape'. Mobile Devices
The Agency website has been tested in a number of mobile devices including PDAs and smartphones. The site will work in PDA and smart phone displays. Switching to the can increase the amount of text on display with some devices.
