A good way of exploring some of the most important information in the special education
field in Austria is to look at a number of its key education websites. In
the contacts section of this website are various links to other organisations.
Below we have identified what we think are some of the most important sites:
The first recommended site is http://bidok.uibk.ac.at/
This website delivers information in the field of disabilities. You can
find articles or extracts of literature, which have been recently published
and links to other organisations and providers.
The website of the Paris-Londron University http://www.sbg.ac.at/
leads to other Universities and Pädagische Akademien in Austria.
Cissoline is a support organisation for ICT. Its website http://www.cisonline.at/
offers interesting links for teachers and their work with disabled people/children
as well as a link to a search engine for teachers with Austrian literature,
links for ICT users in the classroom etc.
The link below provides a guideline for students with disabilities and chronic
conditions http://www.bmwf.gv.at/2studinf/07sozial/sowieso/pgsowies.htm
This link provides information about independent living for disabled people
http://www.bizeps.or.at/
These websites are mainly in German.
The file attached below presents a collection of brochures and guidelines
which have been produced in Austria (from experts to experts) especially
to help teachers in inclusive settings.
These booklets are available in German.
