Organisation of special education services

Special schools and integrated education settings are intended for children and young people who need an adapted education on basis of the outcomes of a multi disciplinary examination. Such education should address their individual special needs.

The multi disciplinary examination is conducted by a psycho medico social centre team called CPMS.

The special school is organised to address the educational special needs of pupils and aims to guide them to fulfil their best potential. Special education aims to:
- Provide for each pupil a broad curriculum with education that meets their needs and develops potential within an individual approach
- Continuously observe and evaluate the development of each pupil
- Help each one to describe and reach their personal potential
- Allow to each one to benefit of pedagogical, paramedic, psychological and social help with the collaboration and guidance of the CPMS teams.
