On 7 November 2011 the European Agency for Development in Special Needs Education hosted a Hearing at the European Parliament in Brussels. The event provided young people from across Europe with the opportunity to express their views on inclusive education.

New collaborative publication on the use of ICTs in Education for People with Disabilities
The Agency and the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education have collaborated on a joint project to develop a Review of Innovative Practice – a report presenting concrete examples of practice of the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with people with disabilities in different educational contexts and settings.
The Agency joins the launch of the World Report on Disability
Cor Meijer, the Director of European Agency for Development in Special Needs Education was invited to attend the launch of the World Report on Disability at the United Nations Building in New York, USA on 9 June 2011. The report, which is a joint publication of the World Health Organization and the World Bank, summarises various sources of evidence on disability and makes recommendations for action to support the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
i-access: Accessible Information Provision for Lifelong Learning
Accessible Information Provision for Lifelong Learning (i-access) is a one year project of the European Agency for Development in Special Needs Education with the aim of raising awareness of the issues surrounding accessible information provision for Lifelong Learning and developing recommendations on how it can be addressed.
Agency presentation to the World Bank's Human Development Network
Cor J.W. Meijer, the Director of European Agency for Development in Special Needs Education, met with representatives of the World Bank and gave a presentation on 'The Work of the European Agency and a European Perspective on Inclusive Education' at the Human Development Network's Learning Week in Washington on 10 March, 2011.
Inclusive Education in Action
The website of the Inclusive Education in Action project (a joint project between the Agency and UNESCO) was launched on 1 September 2010 to exemplify the suggested actions in the UNESCO Policy Guidelines on Inclusion in Education. Since the launch, there have been around 4,630 visitors with a current rate of over 2,000 visitors per month.
Highlighting Vocational Education and Training in Northern Ireland
In February 2011, Cor J.W. Meijer met with the Minister of Education for Northern Ireland, Mrs Catriona Ruane within the framework of the current Agency project ‘Vocational Education and Training (VET), Policy and Practice in the field of SNE’ in connection with a study visit in Belfast.

The European Agency for Development in Special Needs Education in co-operation with the Hungarian Ministry of National Resources, Department for Education is hosting a conference focussing upon Mapping the Implementation of Policy for Inclusive Education.
