Young Voices: Meeting Diversity in Education. This issue of EuroNews is dedicated to information and images from the Hearing. Young people with special educational needs from 29 European countries met in Lisbon on 16th-17th September 2007 for a European Hearing. The European Hearing was organised by the Portuguese Ministry of Education and the European Agency for Development in Special Needs Education.

Assessment in Inclusive Settings - new project information from the Agency. In this issue you will find an article on the first phase of the Agency thematic project on Assessment in Inclusive Settings – Key Issues for Policy and Practice. The main focus for the project has been upon assessment that informs on teaching and learning in primary inclusive settings, including issues relating to legal frameworks and policies for assessment in inclusive settings and how these direct assessment practice. You will also find information on studies from Austria and Sweden, meetings in Spain and Switzerland, projects in Estonia, Germany and Iceland and policy initiatives in Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Poland and Portugal.

Celebrating 10 Years of Agency Work 1996 - 2006. The Agency is ten years old: ten years of intensive work, an unusual density of human relations, a network throughout Europe. To mark this anniversary, EuroNews decided to give the floor to some key actors in the life of the Agency - national representatives, European civil servants in the European Commission or experts from the field - and find out what they say about the Agency.

The Agency Project “Early Childhood Intervention: analysis of situations in Europe”. During 2003-2005, the Agency conducted a project analysing Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) in Europe. ECI is an important area both at policy and professional levels: it relates to the fundamental right of very young children and their families to receive the support they might need.
