The United
Nations Standard Rules on the Equalization of Opportunities for Persons
with Disabilities were established under A/RES/48/96, 85th plenary meeting,
20th December 1993. The Standard Rules define the fundamental concepts relating to disability policy and provide the guidelines for all member countries to follow in implementing these policies.
