On-going assessment of learning in inclusive settings - Czech Republic

The referral to special needs education and to the access of specific provisions for a pupil is determined and revised periodically to renew the need and type of support and to describe the actual special needs of a pupil more precisely, reflecting the progress and development of a pupil.

This practice of the Czech system of education is open to meeting the pupilsĀ“ needs concerning education and helping mainstream teachers understand the special needs of the pupil. The main aim is to support the educational success of a pupil with special needs and to motivate him/her for future education.

An important part of the above described process is having regular contact between the counselling centres and schools, talking about the needs of a pupil and finding the most effective way of meeting the special needs of a pupil during his/her educational process and future planning, in a co-operative way.
