3 How many pupils are out of any formal educational settings ages: 18 546 Pupils Educated Other Than At School, 2014 For ISCED level 1, ages 5 to 10 are included; for ISCED level 2, ages 11 to 15 are included (ages as at 31 August of previous year). This includes pupils educated other than at school.
4 How many pupils are enrolled in mainstream formal educational settings with their non-disabled peers in: 32,029 33,512 Annual School Census, 2014 For ISCED level 1, ages 5 to 10 are included; for ISCED level 2, ages 11 to 15 are included (ages at 31 August of previous year). This includes pupils in all local authority maintained mainstream schools. It excludes independent schools and special schools, as some independent schools are special schools – this information is not collected.
5 How many pupils are enrolled and educated in mainstream classes with their non-disabled peers for at least 80% of the time in: 17,994 M Annual School Census, 2014 There are many small schools in Wales where pupils of multiple ages are taught in the same class. It is not possible to calculate ISCED level 1 accurately as the pupils aged under 5 cannot be split out. The estimate for ISCED 1 is an undercount. No data is collected on the type of class for ISCED level 2.
