Building inclusive societies - online knowledge community

More than one billion people around the world live with some form of disability, many of whom experience inequalities in their daily lives and have fewer opportunities to access a quality education. The ultimate goal of inclusion in education in concerned with an individual's effective participation in society and of reaching his/her full potential. 

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) promotes inclusive education policies, programmes and practices to ensure equal education opportunities for people with disabilities. 

'Building inclusive societies for persons with disabilities' is an open online community set up by the UNESCO, where various stakeholders can share knowledge and debate challenges of an inclusive society. This is an open virtual space established for the promotion of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
