The Agency Has a New Chair

From 1 May 2017, the Agency has a new Chair: Ms Ana Magraner from Spain. Ana Magraner has worked in various posts for the Spanish Government. She also worked for the European Commission (Directorate-General for Education and Culture) until 2013.

Ana Magraner takes over from Mr Per Gunnvall (from Sweden), who chaired the Agency from 2011 to 30 April 2017. During Per Gunnvall’s Chairship, the Agency achieved increased recognition, higher impact and greater visibility. We thank him for his contribution to these results and we wish him all the best in the future.

The Agency’s bi-annual meeting in Malta in April this year gave our member countries’ representatives the opportunity to say goodbye to Per Gunnvall and to welcome Ana Magraner. We in the Agency in general – and I personally – very much look forward to working with Ana Magraner in the coming years.

Ana Magraner will certainly not have an easy task, given all the developments in today’s Europe. Nevertheless, the Agency has overcome other challenges in the past. We are optimistic regarding our continued efforts in working together with European countries to achieve inclusive education for all learners!
