In June, EASNIE participated in a visit by a delegation of education professionals from Kazakhstan to Brussels, Belgium. The delegation, which included university professors, researchers and education practitioners, aimed to explore European practices in inclusive education.
The visit was organised by the Belgian Education Council, which supports education institutions around the world in improving and modernising their work. This visit aimed to provide an overview of how inclusive policies are being implemented across European Union member states, and exchange ideas and build connections between Kazakhstani and European education institutions.
EASNIE representative Antonella Mangiaracina introduced EASNIE and its work, including its position on inclusive education systems, and gave an overview of current EASNIE activities, such as the Thematic Country Cluster Activities. She also introduced some of the ways EASNIE co-operates with other organisations, such as through the Inclusive Education in Action (IEA) website. A joint initiative between EASNIE and UNESCO, IEA is an online resource and knowledge base that provides information on approaches to inclusive education across the world.
