"Inclusive Education: A way to promote social cohesion" - Conference conclusions

The main outcomes of the conference hosted under the 2010 Spanish Presidency of the European Union "Inclusive Education: A way to promote social cohesion" are now being made available.

The main conference conclusions are also available. The conclusions state that inclusive education is a universal right that require policy measures that aim to provide an education of quality, equity and excellence for everyone.

The conclusions can be downloaded in Spanish with an English translation provided by the European Agency for Development in Special Needs and Inclusive Education.

During the conference, a keynote presentation on inclusive education in Europe was given by Agency Director, Cor Meijer.  This presentation gave information on the current situation across Europe, but concluded that inclusive education is basically a human rights issue.
