Workshop in Greece in the framework of an EU-funded project on inclusive education

A workshop for the Agency support to the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs (MERA) took place in Athens on 23–24 September 2019. The project, which is focusing on promoting inclusive education in Greece, is funded by the European Union’s Structural Reform Support Programme and implemented in co-operation with the European Commission. The workshop followed on from the kick-off meeting held in July 2019.

The purpose of the workshop was to explore the priorities on inclusive education in Greece. It was a successful meeting and a large number of stakeholders actively participated, including representatives from MERA, various educational support structures, schools, special needs organisations, the European Commission’s Structural Reform Support Service (SRSS) and the Agency. A researcher from Spain and country experts from Italy and Portugal also took part. Stakeholders made comments and suggestions for possible future developments and changes to empower mainstream schools to include all learners in education.
