Liisa Pentikäinen and Sanna Komu from the Valteri Centre for Learning in Finland discuss Valteri’s role in supporting inclusive education. The speakers describe how, as part of Finland’s move to a more inclusive resource allocation system, Valteri is working to develop ‘communal schools’, where human resources and expertise are shared across a community through teacher training and co-operation with schools.
This presentation is from a webinar on ‘Effective strategies for resource allocation and use at school and regional levels’. The webinar is part of the ‘Fostering Inclusive Quality Education in Finland and Ireland’ project, funded by the European Union through the Technical Support Instrument and carried out by EASNIE in co-operation with the European Commission’s Reform and Investment Task Force (SG REFORM).
